JOURNEY OF LIFE (Chapter 9 to 12) |
CHAPTER 9 |
Taking a stream-line to cultivation |
A few important points to note |
Only through the right senses |
The Truth you may know |
Every tower has its foundation |
Remember what is yours |
Coming to learn with right understanding |
Onwards the search must be on |
Making for the right course |
Building up the right tower |
Inner brilliance is very much called for |
Note this inner light of all |
Everlasting tranquillity is the cultivated mind |
Interest taken towards the cultivated line alone |
Never cease when the fire stops its glow |
Careful in the movement of all |
Until you quench your thirst for knowledge |
Let nothing be your stumbling block |
The work of HEAVEN is great |
In which million tales are told |
Vices of all kinds to be tamed |
At the right boat one must sail |
Tempting no one or you tempt yourself |
Improve with purity in order to gain |
Opening up to the Truth again |
Now, the Journey is on your own again |
Timely turning back, a new life again |
A right turning makes a great difference |
Into the ditch yet out again |
Having again seen the Lighted Land |
Simple facts but knowledge improved |
A thought a day on own cultivation |
Neglect not the aroma of the heart |
Getting in line with right tuning |
Living a life free as the wind |
Onwards to the great voidness seen |
Waking up with an enlightened mind |
Justify the action of a cultivated mind |
Undisturbed the thought must remain |
Nothing should stop your Journey again |
Offend not the rights of another |
No judgement really belongs to man |
Every move that filled with pride |
You only see a downfall in sight |
In cultivation there is no limit |
No pride or self-satisfaction should be in sight |
A deed of charity done through much thinking |
No merit for this act of greed |
Doing charity without thought of returns |
Only then the merit is great |
Naming an object by its name |
Every moment with new name again |
Yet with nothingness instilled in mind |
A name is nothing but a name |
Noting TAO with a correct sight |
Gaining towards the right step |
Conclude nothing with own ideas |
Only through Truth you learn to conclude |
Northern region people find it cold |
Setting eyes on the local one again |
They never blame the cold |
Implement the right thought to benefit |
Thinking of one subject alone |
Undying is the search to a cultivated man |
Trying for the inter-link with the ABOVE |
Every step of success depends on own-self |
Take on Zen to calm the thought |
At all levels new realization of things |
Onto the right Journey again |
Glory is the Light sent. The brilliance enlightens the dim
lamp. |
Bringing
out the best of its glow, the right point is seen again. |
Climbing
up the right ladder, but there is no step. From bottom |
to its top, learn to make own plan. |
Seeing as a divine sees |
Only nothing of shape is seen |
Ordering the mind to see again |
Nothing but figure of illusion |
You see it real yet it is not |
And the little mind plays the tricks |
Noble thoughts lead to noble ways |
Gathering the facts not with mortal's eyes |
Take a look with the rightful eye |
Until you gain this enlightened sight |
Narrow the Path may be |
Gathering force, it opens again |
People search for own gain |
In right words one must see |
Note all the sentient beings. |
Take a look with the rightful eye |
Until you gain this enlightened sight |
Narrow the Path may be |
Gathering force, it opens again |
People search for own gain |
In right words one must see |
Note all the sentient beings. |
There are plenty of people who seek for their own gain. |
They cultivate because others do so. If the thought is |
not clear and the mind does not understand, what is the |
mystic of life? They may easily fall prey to the evil force. |
Like the Ying and Yang force, it is but a line drawn. If |
they really understand what cultivation consists of, then |
they may begin with the right thought. With the right attitude |
of mind, they begin to work for the community and do work that |
is beneficial to mankind. As merits are gained, their wisdom |
may open up to the Truth. Thus, at the right moment when |
cultivation is told, they may grasp the inner meaning of |
what has been taught. During the course of cultivation, one
may |
face plenty of difficulties. Sometimes it is a test of one's |
determination in cultivating the Way, yet at time, it is the |
temptation of the evil force. Evil temptation comes in many
forms. |
Only a steady mind may control such illusions. As the greatest |
power is the heart-power, so is the greatest evil force. This
too |
grows from the heart and could only be controlled through the |
purification of the heart and mind. Such work of purification
depends |
on one's own determination to cast the evil temptation away. |
The cultivated man differentiates the Path through right
reasoning. |
Truth consists of work along the right track. Thus, man must
learn |
to differentiate the Truth. Anything that consists of doubt,
the |
best way is to seek clarification in order to calm one's
thought, |
rather than sitting on it without any realization. All
teachings |
related to the right cultivation may be told among man in
order that |
all may be given a chance to practise. Although the Truth may
be |
told to a great assembly, yet grasping the Truth depends on
individual |
stage of realization. Do not be disheartened because you do
not |
grasp and do not be too proud at your own realization. For
either |
way is not the middle path and should not be the attitude of a |
cultivated man. |
Flowery place, aroma is so sweet. |
Tears falling within, who sees? |
Think of the right step to take. |
Hope for a chance to open up again. |
Determination is as great as a mountain |
and is deeper than the sea. |
One looks at the flowery garden, |
a white spot is seen. |
Moved by such a great determination and sincere prayer, |
even the Immortal will come in disguise to teach the TAO
again. |
Entering into such a flowery place, |
heart of pureness takes its place. |
Pointing the 'point* to the rightful one, |
happiness is to see one gains. |
Thus, a story is told again. |
Setting of the Sun another day passed |
Only to find it a waste |
Onto the shore, a bottle landed |
Note of where it comes |
Yonder comes the Truth of life |
Among man who has seen |
Naming a Western Paradise |
Getting nowhere near at all, not knowing where it really is |
Thinking that it is in the distant land |
Unless you look into the 'inner door' |
Note of the paradise within |
Getting to it a golden key you need |
Placing it on priority and search for it |
In sight, yet the door is not opened |
Net the right thought and produce this key |
See the Light, see it right. |
The eye of Light, the point at the Light. |
A dot as Truth from within it grows, |
covering the whole Universe. |
Returning to its form, it is but a dot. |
The beginning of cultivation is told within these few lines. |
Teachings of all kinds centralize as one truth, pointing alike
at one. |
No difference at all. Buddha talks on Nirvana. Taoism talks on
Great |
Ultimate. Islam talks on Highest Observation. Confucianism
talks on |
Humanity.
Christianity describes Paradise Land. Yet, formless all |
these
remain. Thus, only the Truth remains. But different mortals |
accept
different things. To show great compassion to all alike, |
indeed the ABOVE has granted in many ways. |
CHAPTER 10 |
The understanding of the Truth belongs to one who seeks. |
Having understood its way, one implements it. |
Every step shows the noble way. |
Victor comes out with immediate truth seen. |
Important is each individual act of man. |
Resulting in different stages, |
timely organize the cultivated Path. |
Unmoved by the worldly temptations, |
seek to be free from the present. |
Learn as the teaching shows the Way. |
The HEAVEN'S everlasting work of purity is seen. |
As one realizes its course, it is easier to reach the |
other Land. Know the mystery of the Way and learn from the |
nature of everyday. Coming and going as the wind, a life time |
is soon lost. Seek for betterment in various ways. Each act |
must not be a planned affair. The movement comes from the
heart. |
This indeed is formless yet with action seen. Daily
interference |
must be overcome, for a wise man remains unmoved by it. A
virtuous |
man is not afraid of losing virtues, thus virtues are seen. |
A non-virtuous man is afraid of losing virtues, thereby
virtues |
are lost. All planned works consist of no merits. The more one
seeks |
to gain, the more one loses it. Attachment must not be seen.
In its |
natural way all works develop from the heart. Each action is
not |
planned, yet the best of man is shown. Indeed, this is a
virtuous man. |
Taking action into own hand |
An unsteady heart with poor work seen. |
Improve by reaching tranquility |
Holding only the Truth in man |
Searching yet search deeper within |
Increase the understanding of one's search |
Naming the Path knows its distance |
Getting to it depends on light seen |
Lowering one's status in a humble way |
Opening the Path again for all man |
Waking up on the verge of falling |
Judge not others but yourself instead |
Unfold the Truth of the rightful point |
Note its way and join in |
No action is not weakness |
Only a way to move ahead |
Note of how softness overcomes hardness |
At this stage one may understand |
Controlling the whole thing though seated down |
Take up all and one will see |
Instill in mind that fighting won't help |
Only through non-action one will gain |
Nothing doing doesn't mean work not done. |
You understand the silence |
Every victory belongs to you |
Trying to hit water with a rod |
Wanting to win yet the rod loses. |
Introduce the softness of the water |
This will assist in overcoming all |
Holding this principle, non-action proves good |
NOTHING doing yet much improved |
LEFT to the one to seek on |
Unite the heart and mind to see the Truth |
Noble is the water way that flows |
Doing so, it still seeks to flow low |
Onwards to merge with the sea |
Nothing can stop nature and nothing will |
Even gaining the Truth, seek the right flow. |
Leaders of today follow nature well |
Accordance to nature things work well |
Opposing to nature things left undone |
Trying to turn back half-way |
Zen way never approves such |
Every movement must justify the action |
TEACHES all
mystic way of Truth |
THE Way never
breaks half-way |
TAO always remains and covers the whole
Universe |
WAY of Light depends on how one sees. |
Setting of the Sun and coming of the Moon |
Of which it is a natural course |
On wondering of its good timing |
Note the work it taught |
You see the greatness on its arrival |
At all course it gives light to all |
No one is left out of it |
Giving unselfishly without thinking of self at all. |
Quick movement doesn't mean one reaches |
Unless the foundation one has built |
Assuring all the Path is great |
You perform as the Sun and the Moon |
Leaving no one behind it too |
Introduce light to all as introduced to you. |
Change not the Truth that has been told |
Hold on to it to reach your goal |
Until one reaches the ultimate of all |
Never lose grip or one may fall |
Gather the fruits as one gains |
Looking back with no regret seen |
In Truth one sees the Light again. |
Keep the Path right and straight |
Unceasing must be the movement made |
Ordained by the HEAVEN to give |
Keep in mind the compassion given |
Continue from the past cultivation |
Hoping to really reach |
Important are the seeds sown today |
Unnumbered are the given days. |
Sailing in the rough sea of sufferings |
Everyone must have a strong will |
Only through hardship one values the goodness |
Not seeking but be at the present stage |
Gaining the ultimate, one will be free |
Creating path for others instead |
Holder of Truth, principle must be great |
Even as the call comes from the ABOVE |
Everyone must work together to meet. |
Collecting teachings as treasure |
Have the eyes opened for them |
Onwards one receives as one searches |
Resulting in the great harvest |
Washing all dust from within |
Of which the inner light shines again |
Roads are all man-made but know them. |
Seeking of inner freedom and peace |
Each teaching teaches in a different way |
Awakened by the great voice of Truth |
No one should remain in a dream-like stage |
Kindle each lamp one sees |
Holding brightly and lighting all land |
Operate and work on the 'central point' |
Only from this one may expand. |
Certain point certain truth well noted |
Having taught the voidness too |
Every action sees a way |
Failure to see the Grand Master's teachings |
A lot one may lose |
Taking this final step to end |
TAO and TER' should merge. |
THANKING the ABOVE for the compassion |
TAO lights the Way again |
MASTER'S teachings end for the time being. |
CHAPTER 11 |
CONFUCIOUS TEACHES ON VIRTUES |
Coming as a new born, unstained is the
self |
Often as time passes, tarnished is the
thought |
Now, think for a little while |
Future dust must not stay around |
Until through morality one learns the Way |
Changes from a normal to a wise being |
In virtue one must live in harmony |
Only through virtues one cleans the
thought |
Until one learns to be a true person |
Seeking and seeking the Way may still be
far |
Taking morality as a subject to consider |
Every step leads from that though |
A country that goes without virtues will
never be rich |
Climbing up the ladder, the 'real you'
you must know |
Hoping to know yourself first learn
through nature |
Eliminate all thoughts that are stained |
Setting foot on this plane know of the
Decree |
Onto the right understanding as the first
step |
Note of humanity that is being taught |
Victory belongs to one who wins over
himself |
Improve on the daily living through
acceptance of life |
Remain in deep thought rather than
talking alone |
Temporary is the life, make full use of
it |
Until you reach your destination never
stop |
Enclosed within the wall, yet all one
must know |
Seekers who seek rightly will surely
know. |
Coming with virtues is the nature of all. As the ABOVE grants
the |
Decree,
one should try to learn all. A person who is not filial can |
never be loyal. A loyal one can never stop being filial too. |
Practices of virtues first begin from the home. Learning |
about virtues first begins from self. A person who knows |
of himself will learn cultivation too. By cultivating |
the self, one extends the influence outwards. Thus, the |
family learns of cultivation too. Though cultivation begins |
from oneself, try to extend it to others too. |
To see worldwide peace, rule in the right way. Guide it |
through virtues and none may go wrong. In order to guide |
with virtues, virtues may first begin at home. Wanting to |
guide the home with virtues, virtues one must possess too. |
All things are linked together, one step joining the |
next as you move. |
Controlling oneself through virtues
gained |
Unite the thoughts with good deeds |
Let nothing to be your stumbling block |
Think of things that are good |
Important to remember that there must be
no evil thought |
Victory over others, gain through virtues
too |
Among the mud, flowers still grow |
Tempt not yourself as you stay cool |
Improper is the seeker who forces his way |
Opening your wisdom, first gain the
knowledge |
Never stop at the word 'cultivation' but
move on in order |
to learn more. |
Creating a moment of peace for all |
Hold firmly onto virtues alone |
Everyone who leads a righteous life |
Future of purity seen by all |
Along the path of cultivation |
There is no one who leaves virtues alone |
Taking your life as the granting of the
ABOVE |
HERE TOO ALL BEING LEARN TO LIVE |
Having no possessing thought as yours |
Everything seems to belong to you |
Remember after death nothing is yours |
Every journey has an end |
There is nothing as permanent here |
Only through the right entry |
Onwards the Land of Paradise reached |
A little thought for all beings |
Looking back, you lose nothing at all |
Living in harmony leads to peace
throughout |
Be sure you harmonize with nature
too |
Even as one looks back again |
Improvement with time one must think of |
Note the everlasting shine of the Sun. |
Gain the right shine too |
Looking at the Light without knowing it |
Even as you see the Truth you know not |
Approach life with the right attitude of
mind |
Results one will gain a hundred folds |
Neglect not virtues as you learn |
Times of agony may be a blessing in
disguise |
Only with right understanding one sees
through all |
Life is short so do not waste it |
Into the pond of cleansing to clean your
thought |
View as you reach the depth of it |
Every part is truly cooled off. |
Staring at the open field, freshness one may feel. Looking at
the |
stars and the Moon, wondering how far away they are. Clouds
seem |
untired at their movements, wandering to all parts. Little |
lamb kneels to suck milk. Look at them with a peaceful
thought. |
Beyond the horizon there seems nothing but surely existence is |
sighted too. The naked eyes cannot see beyond, but the
spiritual |
eye may see all. Open up yourself to nature, everything has |
something to teach you. Allow nature to be your teacher. |
Through it, realization may reach the ultimate. Spiritual eye |
may open again, just as it was once opened to you. |
PAI YUEN (White
Clouds) |
Producing work, work to the best |
A little suffering should not stop work
ahead |
Improving on work and work hard for it,
without hard work |
no fruits are seen |
You must still work thoroughly |
Until the best is reached |
Every movement means more than you can
see |
Never, never stop half-way; for Truth
does not stop there. |
The climbing of the mountain needs tolerance. Determination
must |
be great too. Mere climbing of mountain you need to give so
much, the |
Journey to the other side surely requires more. |
Prepare for the Journey for all |
Awaken to the real call |
Influence all to move in the right track |
Yesterday's sorrow must learn to forget |
Unceasing must be the one who searches |
Every place, anytime there is a Master
too |
Never refuse a teacher who teaches, yet
with wisdom you |
must judge and learn
only the Truth. |
Permit to cross the suffering sea |
A reminder is given to all |
In the rough sea one travels alone |
Your must find the right boat |
Unanswered may be your call |
Even at that moment, the thought must be
strong |
Now that a chance is given, seek the
right Path too. |
Living in this plane is like sailing in the vast ocean. |
Both are suffering places. If one navigates well, though |
in the middle of the sea, one may still reach the shore. |
There is no plank that floats forever. One day it will reach |
the shore too. However, a plank moves in accordance with |
the waves and the current. Thus, it does not have a choice |
as to which shore to land. Human beings are different, they
are |
given a choice. The course is given, it depends on how fast
one |
moves. Instead of screaming in the suffering sea, why not head |
for the Shore? Thought reefs are plenty but the lighthouse
should |
guide the way. Follow its light so as not to wreck the boat. |
Permanently the lighthouse stands to outlast all. It will |
not diminish until it guides all. |
Fishes swim in freedom. Their movements are gentle and good. |
Drop a bait for them, the fishes will go towards it. Not |
knowing the trap within, they open their mouths to take a bite |
and regret it for the rest of their lives. For this very bite
may |
be the end of their lives. Though one fish ends its life, yet
its |
death means nothing at all. For no fish takes heed at all. Why
be |
caught? Why be caught? After all it is only a bait. If it
could |
be forgone, swimming freely the fishes will always remain.
Just |
a moment of greed, a temptation, that it cannot go through and |
that is the end of freedom too. |
PAI YUEN (White Clouds) |
People look at the fishes |
A lot of their sufferings who knows |
In the process of being caught |
You do not see the tears drop |
Until one learns and investigates into
the story |
Even though example given one will not
learn from |
Note that nature is the best teacher for
it tells no lies at
all. |
Coming to this world, rich or poor |
How many can have a choice |
Every birth is at the mercy of the ABOVE |
Future recycle one must stop |
A little hint
here and there |
Take it as a lesson too |
Think not of being a Saint |
HOPE you may do well as a human first |
ALL who walk this Path must learn |
<
