JOURNEY OF LIFE (Chapter 13 to 16) |
CHAPTER 13 |
Walking the Path though difficult |
A man who sees emptiness thinks otherwise |
Not difficult but only to comply with nature |
Getting the wisdom one sees better |
Changes from a normal path to the cultivated one |
Hope your determination outlasts all obstacles |
Only through diligent work, a path is opened |
Resulting in a journey back Home |
Precious are the teachings that are being taught |
Everyone who grasps the meaning will gain |
Note the temptation as one learns cultivation |
Getting the senses to stand still is not easy at all |
Waking up to the Truth that was told |
Altogether may the other Shore you go |
Netting all the ignorant beings too |
Get them along as you gain your path |
Trying to reach Sainthood is good |
A step before this you should know |
Seek to be a proper human first |
Everything begins from the root |
Among the mud lotus grows |
Now, learn from the lotus and stay pure. |
Walking up the mountain track, the journey is tiring |
and rough. Although one may meet with many difficulties |
yet one never stops. The saying goes as the Sutra taught:— |
"A
person gained enlightenment, nine generations will |
be
reborn in the Blissful Land. The parents and grand-parents |
gained,
the previous lives' parents and grand-parents gained |
too.
But if one were to stop cultivation half-way, instead of |
being
reborn in the Blissful Land, his nine generations will |
fall
too. By stopping half-way, you will not only hurt yourself |
but others too." |
Do not think of own suffering as a great thing. There are many |
Who suffer without a word. Purify your heart and mind. As you |
gain the knowledge, may you be enlightened by it. Heavenly
Beings |
though full of compassion yet they cannot make you another |
Heavenly Being. To be in the Blissful Land or to be pulled
down |
lies in your own hand. Though Karma is ever taking place,
learn |
more about it and try to fully understand the work of it. By |
realizing how it works, perhaps you may learn a formula to
stop it. |
When talking about Karma, it is often said: |
"Sow good seeds and reap good fruits, |
sow bad seeds and reap bad fruits." |
Since you may understand this, start to sow your good seeds. |
However, remember well, anything that is performed with an |
intention will not reap a full harvest. To build a castle, one |
must not build it in the air. Be aware of the necessity
required |
to build a strong and everlasting castle. |
Human seeks far and wide for a master to teach. |
He seeks for the tower of understanding in order to gain. |
He hopes to know where lies the Blissful Land. |
As often indicated by the Great Merciful One, why not take
heed? |
Though only in a four-line stanza, yet the meaning is great. |
Watching the nature doing its work |
A lot one may gain from it |
Never under-estimate nature for it is a lasting thing |
Going against nature is like seeking own fall |
Take in nothing yet know all |
A message lies in-between words |
See through and one sees all |
Ensure of seeing the treasure . |
Approach Truth with a right attitude |
Name the right Path for all to go. |
Waiting for the Light to come |
A person should seek for the Light |
Never sit still to wait for its appearance |
Get moving and make your search |
Searching with a right purpose |
In which one may then gain |
Keep on the right track |
Let the inner self be your guide |
Onwards your journey you must take on |
Until you see the Fiery Eye |
Recognize Truth as you see it |
Everlasting joy is for the one who obtains |
Never stand still for time does not stand still. |
Old man may be long-winded, but the words are meant |
with good intention. Old they may be, perhaps much more |
they have seen. |
Listening to their talks, you will not lose anything. Open up
your |
ears to hear. Good examples one should not forget. Without |
the old, there is no youth. Learn to be filial for it means |
a lot. Filial with a purpose is not filial. Filial without |
understanding the old is also not filial. Yet one should not |
blindly practise filial piety. It would seem difficult, for |
to move forward is wrong and to move backward is also wrong. |
With a right understanding, think of the above and perhaps a |
little more you will know. |
At the middle of the pond, I sit still in my boat. Looking at |
the four sides, nothing is in sight. Yet the picture of what |
I see gives me joy. So serene is the surrounding, so natural |
is all that I see. Nothing superficial at the surface, nothing |
to intrude the nature too. In deed such sight is not easily
seen. |
But if you wish, you too may see. A tranquil mind only sees |
tranquil objects. A peaceful mind finds peace in all places. |
A steady heart sees things with steadiness. Therefore, you too
may |
see
the picture that I have described. |
In life, there are a lot of things that you need not hope |
for. Things that should be yours will never go. Things that |
you possess but shouldn't be yours, one day they will go too. |
Why should human be so attached? Attaching to all things that |
they desire to obtain. If desires were to be diminished, then |
attachment will go with it too. If only you can see desire is |
not your friend, then you may always be aware of it. By being |
fully aware, one may be able to stop the work of desire. The |
further you walk the cultivated Path, the more temptations to |
own desires will take place. Thus, a cultivated person must |
learn to cultivate the heart and to control the mind. A person |
who can take full control of himself will find that the
Journey |
is not difficult. What have been written may be difficult to
perform, |
but it is not impossible at all. Each cloud has a silver
lining, |
perhaps learning the Truth you will see it too. |
Waking up from your past |
Awaken and be aware on your part |
Neglect not the teachings that were told |
Gently teach all that you know |
Submit only to the Truth |
Into the ditch yet you jump out |
Keep away and do not fall again |
Looking at the past as a lesson |
Omit the wrong but plant the rightful seeds |
Ultimate lotus blooms with a newborn |
Remember you may be in it |
Everlasting is the peace that you will obtain |
Narrowly missed but perhaps a new rebirth again. |
Ceasing all recycles for good |
Having again reborn in Truth |
Everyone who hears may gain |
Future Buddha you see again |
A right or wrong deed |
Take on your next stage |
Time to return Home |
SEE that you are back |
ALL beings must return Home |
AND may all be living in the Blissful Land |
TELL one another and correct each other |
ALL must feel alike especially in the Holy Gate. |
CHAPTER 14 |
Matching sereneness, the heart must be pure |
Opting to reach the ultimate, work you must secure |
Naming a path for all men |
Gather together under the same roof to seek |
Watching not on other's fault |
Usual realization on own fault |
Kindle the Light of pureness |
Until brilliance lights the Path |
Nectar though sweet but not for 'all |
Giver who seeks returns will not get at all |
Kindness shown to all fellow beings |
Unite all as one |
Net them into the Hall of Justice |
Gathering in such a place, they will learn. |
A place of serenity must be matched with a peaceful mind. |
For if a mind is filled with desire, the sight will not please |
the eyes. A person with a pure heart will find peace in all |
land. When they do not crave for anything, they are detached |
from the worldly objects. Therefore, they are satisfied with |
whatever they possess. Indeed, in the cultivated Path, one |
should learn to be satisfied instead of blaming for things not |
obtained. Such a person will feel serene, for the heart has no |
desire for things that are not his. |
A person's strength will not project far. One person's
knowledge |
Is not wide. Therefore, gather under the same roof to learn.
After |
all, the objective should be the same. By sharing your
knowledge, |
you may understand better as each brings forth his views.
Learn to |
share with an open heart and mind. All teachings though alike, |
yet they possess their own essence. The inner meaning may not
be |
easily grasped. |
If
only all of you were to sit together, by words or action, another |
person may gain too. Such great deed of sharing is also the
basis of |
learning to live in harmony. |
To the ABOVE, beings are the most important and great
compassion |
is extended to all. When you learn to share, remember you are
one |
of the beings. Therefore, if other beings gain, you will gain
too. |
Pray for world peace. Such prayer though not for personal, yet
if |
the whole world is at peace, you will find peace too. One
should |
not think about one's own gain. For as one stands still; one
will |
still gain. This may also explain a little about 'non-action'. |
Though one takes on the 'non-action' practice, yet there is |
nothing left undone. Even though you pray for others you will
gain |
too. |
The Path is meant for all beings. Even if all of you were to |
walk this Path together, it will not be congested. Therefore,
as one |
walks this glorious Path, take others along too. Do not worry
about |
other's achievement for achievement could be yours too. Be a
little |
generous in your thought. Extend the teachings to others too.
Perhaps |
all may gain entry together and a place filled with harmony
again. |
Waste not the time that is given |
Unite the mind and soul |
Make sure the self you know |
Only at this point realization you see |
Never say tired to the long Journey |
Getting that feeling, you will not see the 'door' |
Waking all as you walk along |
Unusual results you may see. |
Affinity is something that many cannot explain. How could one |
reap the fruits of affinity? Was it the past roots that bring |
affinity into a person's life? Or was it the doing of today? |
The past, present and future, all these are inter-linked. |
The land is so vast, yet you gather under one roof. |
This is the reaping of one's affinity. |
Do you and I have affinity? The answer is yes and no. Yes,
because |
the ABOVE is filled with great compassion and therefore WE
answer |
to the calls of all. No, because you may not have been in the |
cultivated Path before. For those who have in the past walked
on |
this Path, certain affinity may have been created with some
Heavenly |
Beings. Therefore, in this life, it looks as if only these
Deities |
will answer to the call. |
Tonight, I talked on affinity because many doubts are in
human's |
mind about this word. Remember, through affinity alone will
not |
bring enlightenment to you, you must still strive in order to
reach |
the goal. The Heavenly Gate, as I stand guard, many came as
far as |
the doorstep only to be rejected. Many who have reached the
ultimate |
stage, they merely lighten themselves and were guided in. This
result |
is not the work of affinity but hard work and great
determination. |
One may be inside the Holy Gate, yet he has not truly grasped
what |
has been taught. Perhaps, my given name may refresh your
thoughts. |
Wandering thoughts lead nowhere |
Unintentional thoughts bring no result |
Kindle the light of understanding |
Un-attracted to the desirous call |
Note of the emptiness but grasp through all |
Gain from the Sutra as it is the intended call. |
Walking in emptiness as if you do not belong |
Unusual
peace will be in your thought |
Keeping attachment away from your heart |
Unceasing is the search to obtain |
Nothingness will win over materialistic things |
Getting all dust thoroughly wiped away. |
Watching people chanting the Sutras |
Uncertainty must never take place |
Kindle back the true Buddha nature |
Uniformity will again take place |
Note the beauty of the lotus |
Gather its strength as an example to be. |
Coming to an end, may all gain |
Having talked on cultivation |
Everywhere hints are seen |
Future lights that shine |
A lot depend on beings |
Telling a little more as time passes |
Take on the Journey again |
DESCRIBING a little on what to do |
A person who grasps may see |
LITTLE by little as day passes |
OF which result will be seen |
THE Journey of return is a necessity |
JOURNEY Home and you will be free. |
CHAPTER 15 |
Looking back at the teachings taught, |
improvement in understanding, have you made? |
Every page contains certain value. |
Watching from the centre you may see. |
Coming for more if the ABOVE permits. |
Helping you to cross this suffering sea, |
onto the new Journey, as one understands, |
of which a new person you may be. |
Now, be born again to a new life. |
Sector by sector, examine it well. |
Look at the surface and the inside of it |
Each time a little part of the Journey is told. |
This may take you even further ahead. |
Seeking for the real treasure |
Only to look at the life and search |
Of course the Journey is added on |
Neglect one not as one moves on to another |
You will see difficulty as you repeat the Book |
Awaken to the Great Truth that was told |
Naming the right search of your own |
Gaining a standing in the cultivated Path. |
Perhaps, behind you many may gain too. Each part tells |
a different side. Grasp it right and put it to practice. |
To obtain is to strive and work for it. Nothing will come |
on its own accord. People may have chances through time. |
However, the same Buddha-nature remains. It depends on |
how you rediscover this nature and return Home again. |
PAI YUEN (White Clouds) |
Putting effort further into the search |
A given opportunity does not knock too
often |
Important matters put to priority |
Yet what is more important than your
return Journey |
Unsatisfaction is the work of desire |
Every person should let go |
Never think that you are all alone. |
As you walk this Journey, many walk with you. To be near the |
charcoal field, one turns a little black too. Be in the Pure |
Gate and work for your own goal. The ultimate must be reached |
by yourself. No one may take you along. |
Yesterday's dream, dream of the past |
Every step of today, a dream of tomorrow |
Remaining while others move ahead |
You will feel the real loneliness ahead |
Unless you walk the same Path |
Either you go or you stay |
Never blame Heaven or Earth as you wear your days away. |
Your dream may be the glittering star. However, it is an |
Illusion that will not materialize. The past deeds you may not |
be able to amend. But the present and the future, it is still |
in your own hand. Happiness on Earth cannot be compared to the |
Blissful Land. If you think that you can arrive at the
Blissful |
Land, then do not hesitate but begin your Journey again. |
You see of your past as you look at the present |
In which something you may learn |
Keeping in mind of the central point |
Coming and going as your spirit will |
Having understood the nature of all |
Unite the right point for your journey Home |
Name your own freedom as you see the Truth. |
Look left, look right, look at the centre too. |
A point that guides, |
a point to be opened too. |
A dot that points to the 'door', |
open it and the road is clear. |
Mercy is a great virtue extended from within |
Every newborn nature is the same |
Recognizing its goodness, do not let it be stained |
Coming and going forever |
Ill-feeling of return you feel |
Fully recognize your own nature |
Union with the ABOVE indeed is great |
Looking for the Buddha pagoda |
Only to find that it is near at hand |
Note of the pathway within |
Every movement gentle and grace. |
Keeping on the right track as one is guided |
Unless told to, one should not leave the Path alone |
A lot of danger if one does not see the trap |
Not easy but one still has to walk alone |
Placing yourself on full alert |
Every temptation seen but do not comply |
Note the strict order of the army camp |
Gaining through victory, peace again prevails. |
Changing from riches to rag |
Happily I enter the real Gateway |
Every crazy moment of my life |
Fast and quick I teach through music |
A lot of people cannot stand solemn-ness |
That is why crazy as they think |
Truth I still spread |
CHAPTER 16 |
CHE FAT WELCOMES THE FIVE RELIGIOUS LEADERS |
Coming to an end, it is not an end to all |
Holding betterment in mind, perhaps there
would be-more |
Every scripture caters for all fields |
For as one opens up, one sees the Truth |
All beings are alike though different in
color |
Try not to discriminate one another |
Taking up the learning, learn well to
gain |
WELCOME all teachings and expound the
teachings of all |
THE work of ABOVE is ever compassionate |
FIVE into one and the meaning is great |
RELIGIOUS teachings are meant to teach
the cultivation of the |
heart |
LEADERS are here as a guiding light only. |
MOHAMAD THE PROPHET |
Making the world at peace |
Only through self-understanding |
Holding the principle strong and firm |
All will learn the Truth |
Men in all land are brothers |
Among you, fight should not be seen |
Dealing in sensitive issue, forego the
self |
THE teachings of today are meant for all |
Placing your heart on observing the Truth |
Ruin not yourself through
misunderstanding of Truth |
Only through a peaceful mind you will see |
Precious are the teachings as they are
the essence of all |
Helping one another as brothers should |
Every movement as a big family |
Take on all in harmony. |
JESUS CHRIST |
Judge not others as you too are being
judged |
Everyone has faults and so have you |
Search for the Three Trinity to gain |
Use the right method to purify your heart |
Seekers who knock, the door will be
opened |
Coming into the land of goodness |
Having seen the scripture, look deeper
into it |
Remedy of life lies deep within the
scripture |
Into the right gate you have come |
Set your mind on a goal and begin the Way |
Taking you into the Kingdom of God are
all the teachings. |
CONFUCIOUS |
Comfort to the eye is not comfort |
Only the Truth will open your eyes |
Note of Humanity as a human should |
Fasten your sight on the right track
alone |
Uncontrolled is the mind filled with
emotions |
Calmly one should learn to observe all |
Improve your understanding of human
beings |
Only then you may understand the Will of
Heaven |

Union under the same sky will bring
harmony |
Singing and laughing together, learn the
Way. |
LAO JUIN |
Looking at the start of all things |
A beginning and an end are surely seen |
Opening your real self to the beginning |
Justify all actions till the end |
Unmoved like a block yet with all things
move |
In nature all have a course to take |
Note of the stars and the Moon, they too
have their places, |
Amitabha, may great compassion be
extended and felt by |
all beings. |

SIDHARTA BUDDHA HERE WITH ALL LEADERS |
Seeking the Way, treasures left behind |
Into deep thought, suffering I understand
more |
Dreaming of peace, a work of your own |
Hoping to gain, expound the Truth |
A million words spoken but realization I
hope' to see |
Remain inside or outside my Land |
This is left in your own hand |
A treasure given, know of it |
BUDDHA may teach Dharma but cannot make
you realize |
HERE the teachings of togetherness |
WITH an understanding, look into it |
ALL works of today bring forth fruits of
tomorrow |
LEADERS are here to give you the right
seeds. |
